Join us for a fun Thanksgiving tradition! Get some fresh air before the big meal and do something good for the community at the same time.
What a perfect fit for Thanksgiving! It's all for the Faith Mission Shelter, which houses men, women and children who are in transition.
The Faith Mission also serves free meals for lunch and dinner 365 days a year to those who need to stretch their budget. Their doors are open 24/7!
NOTE: New starting location for the event this year. Yes, we are moving again to be able to provide more parking so that people can come and leave quickly! We know you have things to do on the Big Day, but want you to be part of this event!
We will be starting and finishing at the Elkhart Youth and Community Center, (formerly the YMCA), at 200 East Jackson! For your convenience, you can check in on Wednesday, November 26 from 2:00 (not a typo) to 7pm (which we strongly encourage) or on Thanksgiving morning from 6:00 am - 8:00 am.
10K starts at 8:30 am sharp! 5K will head out at 8:35 am and Milers will begin at 8:40 am.
We know you want to get back home to your day off, so while this is low key event, we are keeping a schedule! Everyone will get a finisher ribbon at the finisher line along with refreshments but there is no official awards ceremony. We do have gravy boats for the top MF finishers in the 5K and 10K, so come back for those.
With this set up, there will be ample parking for easy getaway back to your home!
Again, the idea is come out- get some fresh air and head home. Not an all morning event! Got a house full of company? Load up the car and bring them along! The food will taste better, you will definitely FEEL better after you move a bit!
AND this is all for the homeless shelter, so what could be a more appropriate way of spending an hour or so on Thanksgiving morning! Most of us have so much to be thankful for, and it's good to keep remembering that!
This is also a great way to set a good example for your kids and start that conversation!
Several courses to chose from at this unique venue- A Christmas tree farm! What a perfect spot for this time of year!
We have a course for everyone in the family, including a fun run for the kids. It's great to be out on the farm and breathe in the pine tree-filtered fresh air. Wow. So close and yet so far away from the noise in our daily lives!
The 5K will be on paved/plowed roads. The 10K and Half Marathon will start out with the 5K so you can warm up your legs, and then off into the wood on trails around the farm with a section through a private forest. The 10K makes one loop in the woods and the Half Marathon repeats the course again with a bit extra.
Perfect for a Huff tune-up! It will give you the edge you need, and some practice in the cooler conditions . A new simplified course will stay in one "quadrant" of the farm so you will be able to see other runners as you gallop through the conifers!
We have exceptional awards, fresh baked goods from Essen Haus (YUM), warm soup, hot cocoa and tea, salty snacks and more for your post run recharge! Plus- the coolest custom finisher medal for all!
Price for any run is just $25 for any race. If you want the optional quarter zip finisher fleece, it is an additional $45. We are not ordering extra fleeces, so you only get one if you order in advance!
This Valentines Day, why not bring your sweetie out for a walk (or run) in the park! The Studebaker Pavilion, which is our base, is a roomy log cabin and we'll have a nice fire going to help you thaw out after the run. Local talk show radio pro, Allen Strike, will be out to spin the tunes and MC our event.
This is an absolutely gorgeous path in the woods! It is quite the hidden gem!
We will have a finisher momento for everyone who braves the cold as well as AG awards!
It can't get any colder than it was last year, and honestly it was a blast! Don't miss this one!
$15 for the run and $25 includes a long sleeve tshirt! For this run, you have to order a shirt in advance as no extras are ordered.
This would make a nice Valentines Day gift for your sweetie, a work associate or your family! The path is so lovely when it is snow covered.
A self-guided tour of our lovely area by bicycle! Choices of 10-20-40-60 and 100 Miles routes, with rest stops (snacks and restrooms) along the way!
This event benefits Habitat for Humanity and United Cancer Services of Elkhart County.
[The date moved to avoid conflict with other events]
This is a once in a year chance to swim in the Pond and participate in it's first triathlon or mile swim. The water is deep and almost drinkable it's so clean and clear!
The Triathlon will be 500 yard Swim, 15 mile bike and 5K run (two laps around the quarry) Perfect for a first time event, a relay or a local training day. [ Need more time on the bike? After this is over, you can go do the Pumpkinvine trail which is just a mile away! Fantastic riding!]
This venue is unique. Our transition area will be in a residents yard, which is about 400 yards away from the swim exit.
We are also offering a mile swim. Did we mention this is a swimmer's DREAM? You do not want to miss this swim opportunity. One day only! This is not your Nana's pond!!!
Boo Ha Ha! If the Headless Horseman doesn't get you, the hills just might.
This is a fun, family event with a lovely Monster Mile Trail Walk option, a 5K run or walk or a Half Marathon.
We are talking about adding a 10K this year, so stay tuned. The feedback we are getting from some people is a 5K is a little short, but oh- not ready for a hilly half marathon.
This is such a feel-good event and all for a great group of people- the Elkhart County Down Syndrome Support Group!
